Activities

Own a Pony Day:

For those of you who don’t have a pony, we do “Own a Pony” days.

These are an ideal way for children to find out how much fun it is to groom, feed, muck out and generally care for their pony whilst learning at the same time.

Typical Itinerary:

9:00am - Arrival, registration, groom ponies
10:00am - First lesson
12:00 noon - Lecture on feeding, grooming
1:00pm - Packed lunch / refreshments from the “Country Byre”
2:00pm - Preparation
3:00pm - Second lesson/hack
4:30pm - Reflection and departure

Bring your own warm clothes and sturdy boots or wellingtons - we provide hard hats.

Pony Camps:

During the school holidays we also provide “Pony Camps” for the children.

These provide an excellent footing for the children through lessons and lectures on a wide range of equine topics from stable management through to horse anatomy.

These camps last 5 days, with the children staying on-site and are supervised throughout.

Le Trec Training:

Le Trec training is available by arrangement - Wester Deanhead was the location for the 2005 Scottish Le Trec championships.


		Affiliated Show Jumping:

	We like to hold weekly show jumping classes, ranging from clear round, novice, and intermediate, to open for the more experienced riders. Being placed in these classes accrues points through our new system - and points mean prizes! courtesy of the Tack Shop.

B&B Riding Holidays

Our Bed & Breakfast Riding Holidays include accommodation, optional lunch and evening meal. A customised riding programme can be devised to suit your exact requirements, so that you can ride as much or as little as you wish.

We can also help to organise other activities for partners who may have other interests - there are many other tourist attractions and activities in the local area which we can advise on.

Corporate Leisure Entertainment

We can now cater for corporate leisure entertainment - we provide lunch and refreshments along with a programme of riding which suits all levels of rider.

Our floodlit, Olympic sized, outdoor arena is also available for private hire.


	Children’s Parties

Want something different for your child’s birthday party? Then bring them along to Wester Deanhead. We will ensure they have a day to remember, as they have their party at the Country Byre and then afterwards enjoy a ride out with all their friends.

We also hold Christmas and Hallowe’en parties, Easter Egg Hunts and fancy dress competitions.
